The ladder · weekly
Ethiopian export floor, week of 27–2 November 2026.
Registered minimum export prices · USD/lb · FOB
Highest registered G1 natural this week: Galana Abaya at 4.71 USD/lb.
Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority weekly minimum export price sheets; vertical-integration exporters; FOB Ethiopia. Each rung is the registered floor for that coffee type, grade and process in the week shown. Source: ECTA minimum export price sheets (weekly). Updated 2026-10-29. Reference only — not an offer; Aletheia quotes per lot, above the registered floor.
Get the ladder every Thursday.
One email a week: the registered floor by type and grade, and what moved. No offers, no adjectives.
Sourced at origin.
Directly from Ethiopia: washed and natural lots, grades G1 to G4, selected at origin and cupped again at the Coffee Centre table before they are offered.
Held in Dubai.
Bonded stock at the DMCC Coffee Centre. Lots are cupped, sampled and released here — a roaster in the Gulf buys against a spec sheet and a cup, not a promise.
Delivered on documents.
Ex DMCC stock or forward from origin, with the full set: contract, commercial invoice, packing list, quality and phytosanitary certificates, certificate of origin, bill of lading.
How we trade
Four steps from the cup to the container.
A sample bag to your roastery, or a seat at the Coffee Centre table. Every lot carries a specification sheet: grade, process, region, crop, screen, moisture, defects, score.
Lot, bags, price and delivery window on one page. An advance against the contract secures the coffee.
From bonded stock in Dubai in days, or forward from origin on the agreed window.
The balance is paid against the document set. Nothing moves without paper.
Cupping
A seat at the table.
We cup the current lots with roasters at the DMCC Coffee Centre. Places are few; ask for one.

Questions
What buyers ask first.
- What does Aletheia sell?
- Green (unroasted) coffee beans from Ethiopia, to roasters, cafés with their own roastery, distributors and private-label buyers in the UAE and across the Gulf. Aletheia sells green coffee only.
- Which Ethiopian coffees are available?
- Washed and natural lots from Yirgacheffe, Guji, Sidamo, Sheka, Gelana Abaya, Gesha, Harar, Limu, Jimma, Kafa and Nekemte, in grades G1 to G4. The current list is on the board, refreshed every Thursday.
- How are lots sold and delivered?
- From bonded stock at the DMCC Coffee Centre in Dubai, or forward from origin on an agreed delivery window. Forward lots are quoted per 20 ft container of 320 bags × 60 kg.
- What are the payment terms?
- An advance against the signed contract secures the coffee. The balance is paid against the document set: commercial invoice, packing list, quality and phytosanitary certificates, certificate of origin and bill of lading.
- Can I taste the coffee before I buy?
- Yes. Ask for a sample bag sent to your roastery, or a seat at a cupping at the DMCC Coffee Centre. Every lot has a specification sheet: grade, process, region, crop, screen, moisture, defects and score.
- What is the Ethiopian export floor price?
- Ethiopia's Coffee and Tea Authority (ECTA) registers a minimum export price, FOB, for each coffee type, grade and process every week; coffee may not be exported below it. Aletheia publishes eight reference rungs in the ladder every Thursday. They are reference prices, not offers — Aletheia quotes per lot, above the floor.
- How do I reach Aletheia?
- [email protected] for lots, samples, offers and cupping; [email protected] for licence copies, contracts and documents for lenders and insurers. Or use the offer form.
